PhD Student Positions in Business Process Management @ University of Tartu

The Software Engineering & Information Systems Group at University of Tartu has two PhD openings on the following topics:

  1. Business Process Simulation with Deep Learning.
  2. Adaptive and Multi-Source Detection of Suspicious Financial Behaviour (cooperation with a financial institution to be disclosed later).

We are looking for applications from Masters graduates or Masters students who intend to graduate by the summer of 2018 or for recent Masters graduates. Preference will be given to students with high GPA, and applicants who can demonstrate a solid background in data and process modeling, process management, process mining, and/or machine learning.

Each PhD position comes with a scholarship of 1060 euros/month net for a period of four years. The successful candidate will be embedded within the group, which consists of 8 staff members and 12 PhD students. The group conducts world-leading research in the fields of business process management and process mining. In the past 5 years, the group has earned 8 best or distinguished paper awards at international conferences.
